Welcome
Troop 823 was established over 40 years ago to bring scouting to sons of servicemen at McCoy Air Force Base in Orlando, FL. The troop now serves families in the south Orlando area with boys living in Orange, Osceloa, and Seminole counties.
The Boy Scouts of America provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness, while building friendships and experiences that last a lifetime. The Boy Scout program is for boys ages 11-17.
Our monthly activities usually include:
- A Camping Trip -- These may range from going to a state park,a primitive area, or on a canoe or backpacking trek.
- Troop Meetings -- To work on scout skills, merit badges, or plan camping trips.
- Merit Badges -- There are over 120 different merit badges that range from Rifle Shooting, Astronomy, Swimming, Motorboating, Cooking, and many more!

Troop 823 meets at Bear Creek Recreation Center (behind Cypress Creek High School) every Monday at 6:30 (except holidays). Please feel free to come any Monday you're available and we can answer any questions, give you more information, and get your son signed up for the Boy Scouts of America.
